2026 AGM

As we head toward our Annual General Meeting on Sunday 31 May 2026, we are now seeking expressions of interest and nominations for three important roles on the Club Committee that will become vacant.

  • Chairperson

  • Health and Safety Officer

  • Facilities Manager

These roles play a key part in supporting the ongoing strength, safety, and future direction of our club. Whether you are keen to step into a leadership position or contribute in a more specialised capacity, we encourage you to consider getting involved.

If you are interested, or would like to nominate someone, please submit your nomination to the Club Secretary by 3 May 2026 by email at whiritoa.slsc@gmail.com.

  • All nominations must be completed using the official Nomination Form

  • Position descriptions are available online here

Voting to appoint new committee members will take place at the Club AGM on Sunday 31 May 2026, in accordance with the club constitution.

Being part of the committee is a great way to give back to the club, help shape our future, and support the incredible work that happens both on and off the beach.

If you have any questions about the roles or what’s involved, please don’t hesitate to reach out at whiritoa.slsc@gmail.com

Run the Night for Zoe

Sunday 25 - Mon 26 January 2026

Tomorrow afternoon, we’re supporting one of our own as she takes on a pretty epic challenge.

Zoe is a Whiritoa lifeguard and patrol captain, and in February she’s heading off on Spirit of Adventure after being chosen by the club. The club has already covered half the cost of the voyage, and now Zoe is fundraising to make up the rest.

Her plan is simple (and slightly mad) - a 4km loop around Whiritoa every hour, on the hour, for 24 hours.

Zoe will be down at the surf club from 3.45pm Sunday with the first run starting at 4.00pm, and she’d love your support, whether that’s a donation, some company on the road, or a bit of cheering from the sidelines.

You can help in a few easy ways:

  • Take part in the challenge - $20 entry if you want to see how far you can go by running a lap (or a few!) alongside Zoe

  • Make a bank transfer to
    Whiritoa Lifeguard Service
    03-1575-0043401-00
    Reference: Zoe

  • Donate at the snack bar or bar

  • Drop cash into the red donation bucket at the club

  • Or jump in for a lap or two just for fun (bonus points if you carry the bucket)

Check out our Facebook page for updates, or follow two_tryhards on Instagram.

Every bit of support helps Zoe get closer to an unforgettable offshore adventure. Come down, say hi, join her for a loop, or chip in if you can.

Taste of Toa - Community Fundraiser

Our first Taste of Toa fundraiser brought the community together in style. On 31 May, the Surf Club came alive with local craft beer, boutique spirits, and fresh kai – all donated by talented producers from across the Coromandel and beyond.

Special thanks to Vicki Skill, who led the event organisation, and Jane Bell, whose incredible local kai made the night memorable. Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, or volunteered. Your support is helping us invest in the next generation of lifeguards who keep Whiritoa Beach safe.
